Learning to Recognise and Spell Words.
*Phonemic awareness is the knowledge that spoken words are made up of sounds that can be separted.
*System learning is that words are stored as whole, while Item learning is that complex word are recreated each time they are met or used. They reason why we use different learning depend on words is the number of each item. That is, Low frequency items are so nuverous that we deal with systematic rule. But, high frequency items are relatively small in number.
* To improve spelling, the spelling is delt with across the four strands of meaning-focused input, meaning -focused output,language-focused learning and fluency development.
